Reviews about INcounters, Inc Abilene
- ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆June 04, 2019, by B TThis was not a good experience. We selected countertops and signed our paperwork and paid the company. We were told the start date of our project, (which was about three weeks out) and that we’d need to have all plumbing disconnected—they will NOT touch any plumbing, which includes faucets, (!), so be aware of that—the day of project start. Anyway, we were initially happy with our decision. On the date of install, our plumber arrived to disconnect our sinks in the bathrooms and kitchen; an hour went by, and no sign of the countertop crew. My husband, who had taken off from work for the install, called, and we were told not only were we not scheduled that day, but we were not scheduled at all. Our countertops weren’t even cut and prepared, and the sink we ordered—they finally opened the box, and it had untemovable stains on it. (Thankfully, they had a sink in another color that I did like, or it would have been another week’s wait to re-order the sink). I politely, but firmly told someone from the company that this wasn’t fair, and to the company’s credit, they agreed, and stated they’d kick it into high gear and get my countertops cut and over to my house, as originally planned. They said to give them a couple hours. But, they showed up around 4pm, so that threw everything off. Now, we get to pay our plumber “after-hours” costs due to that, when he returns to hook everything back up. I realize home projects are usually not a “fun” event while ongoing, but they should go off smoothly, especially when it’s the policy for customers to pay all balances up front. They did try to make what happened right, but my husband and I both agreed it was a lot of unnecessary stress. Edited to add: I just checked out the countertops, and the crew neglected to caulk the back and lateral edges. This is a finishing step that I’ve never had not done by a countertop installer. Also, my husband said one of the contractors on site in our home today acted as if he didn’t want to be here, and couldn’t care less. After the install, the guys scurried outta here without so much as a goodbye. Very unprofessional, in my opinion. Now, I’m trying to contact the company, and nobody is returning my emails or texts. Edited to add, again: the company just answered a Facebook PM, and they stated to me that caulking/sealing is only part of the job if you install backsplash!!!! What in the world?? I have never been told such a thing by any contractor that I’ve worked with, and I’ve had countertops installed on at least 5 occasions. They said they’d have someone out here on Monday!! Perfect. So, make the customer wait. I asked if someone could come tomorrow...guess we will see. Seriously, I rarely take a hard line with companies, but if you are considering them, please really think it over. This is definitely not what we paid for.
